Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and safety-focused Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to join our team. The NEMT Driver will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, treatment centers, and other health-related destinations. This role is crucial in helping clients maintain access to essential healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments in a timely and courteous manner.
- Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle when necessary, including those with mobility challenges or in wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean, well-maintained, and properly fueled vehicle at all times.
- Use GPS or route mapping tools to ensure efficient travel.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Accurately complete trip logs, mileage records, and other documentation as required.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly to management.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, caregivers, dispatch, and healthcare personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in transportation, caregiving, or customer service preferred.
- Ability to lift and assist clients when necessary.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if needed.
- Work is performed in a vehicle and various indoor/outdoor environments.
- May involve lifting, bending, and assisting clients with limited mobility.
